I have been exactly where you are right now. I know what it feels like when no one understands or supports you at a time when that’s the thing you need most. I see you. What I learned along the way was that being a team player in my own healing, addressing my mindset about my situation, and taking a holistic approach, allowed me to push the reset button on my health and finally begin to heal...for real.

It wasn’t always this way, I had to rebuild and reframe along the way in order to find a way of healing that worked for me and my body.


In 2014 my health began to deteriorate and I began to understand that diet wasn’t necessarily the whole story no matter what the media or my doctor told me - “eat this not that,” “eat less, to lose weight,” “count calories so you stop gaining weight.” I spent months being bounced from doctor to doctor with zero answers. Tired? Take a nap. Digestive upset? Stop eating whatever food made you feel that way. Gaining weight? Write down what you eat so you don’t overeat. Sore muscles and achy joints? Stop exercising.

Those were not the answers I wanted to hear nor were they the answers that would actually solve any of my issues. I literally begged for a diagnosis of any condition that I could take a pill for and feel better.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with a reactivated mononucleosis infection (due to the Epstein-Barr virus), adrenal fatigue, and borderline hypothyroid. But what I did not get with my diagnosis was any sort plan to help me feel better.

I now know that blanket diet recommendations aren’t enough (and diet itself often cannot solve all the things). We need so much more.

As a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Paleo foodie, research and science junkie, endurance athlete, and reformed change hater, I have studied and used most of the major dietary theories and self-care practices and I will help you discover what approach (or combination of approaches) will work best for you.

I practice functional medicine which means that my approach is holistic and I look at how all the systems in your body and all areas of your life are connected. Total wellness and long-term health is achieved by combining food, movement, and self-care practices in a way that fits into your life.

Information: In order to understand how to heal, you first need to understand what it is that you are healing. Don’t worry, you don’t need a medical degree for this part! We will explore some basics about your health condition so you have a framework to make decisions about your health going forward.

Collaboration: We are a team and this is a collaborative effort. There may be other who we need to bring onto the team (or who are already there) in order to make sure that you get exactly what you need to achieve maximum healing and health.

Feed & Fuel: There is absolutely no one-size-fits-all diet out there. Which means that we need to figure out what works for you body. You’ll walk away from this program with a completely personalized 100% (ok maybe 97%) perfect diet FOR YOU.

Movement: When you are exhausted and feeling sick, getting the movement you need is probably the last thing you want to do. But studies show that those who get regular exercise have a better quality of life. Even though it can be hard, it’s worth it. You don’t have to become a competitive athlete (unless you want to), but we will develop a plan to slowly incorporate more movement into your daily life.

Mindfulness: Managing your stress is critical to both your long term health and short-term healing. Your illness or health condition is also a stressor on your body. We will examine the sources of stress in your life and develop effective ways to manage it so you can become more resilient and achieve maximum healing.

Rest: Rest is important in healing and not something that can be ignored. We will supercharge your sleep and build some other restorative activities into your life.

Connection: Connecting with other people as well as the natural world around you is critical to healing and maintaining health. We will address ways for you to build a support network through connections with others as well as explore the benefits of connection with nature.

What are your qualifications?

I am a nurse practitioner who practices with a functional medicine approach. I have over 9 years of clinical experience and I have an extensive background in women's health.

What kinds of things would I work on with you? 

With over 9 years of clinical experience, I am able to help you with a variety of chronic and autoimmune health conditions. My integrative approach has been particular successful with conditions that don't always respond to traditional medical treatments such as irritable bowel syndrome, PMS, generalized fatigue, and migraines or other headaches. Other common conditions that you may want my help with include:

What is not included?

I do not diagnose or treat any disease, or manage your medications if we are working together remotely. I can make specific recommendations for testing that your doctor or local healthcare provider can order or places you can go to order certain tests without a physician. I can also help you better understand any disease you may have already been diagnosed with as well as ways to prevent, mitigate, or treat a disease. I can also make recommendations for supplements, dietary, and lifestyle changes that may help you work with your provider to decrease or get off of some medications.  

Do you bill insurance?

I do not bill insurance. I can provide you with a receipt for your payment, but even though I am a nurse practitioner, this program may not be considered therapeutic and your health insurance will not likely cover it. 

Can we discuss diseases?

Yes, we can discuss diseases. There is no need to avoid mentioning the word disease or the names of specific diseases. We do need to agree that I am not offering diagnosis, treatment, or treatment advice. However, I can provide you with education about what I believe the causes to be, ways to prevent or treat diseases, as well as making specific recommendations of what to discuss with your doctor.

Can you suggest specific providers for specific lab tests?

Yes. Sometimes I will know the best option and sometimes it will require some research on my part to figure out the logistics associated with specific providers. I offer research between sessions for the health and wellness packages, but not for the hourly consultations.

Can you analyze stool tests?

I am familiar with stool tests and I may be able to provide valuable insights.

What if my schedule changes after I have made my appointments?

You can reschedule your appointment at any time. 

Can we conduct our appointment via email instead of phone or video chat? 

When you purchase a package, I offer limited email support to allow for clarifications, answers to quick questions, and briefly discussing priorities for how to use future sessions. I unfortunately cannot substitute email discussions for the sessions themselves. 

If my schedule doesn’t fit the slots available in the calendar, are you flexible with other days?

Currently I can only commit to the slots that are in the calendar. They are designed to offer flexibility for time of day across many time zones. Please note, that the scheduling software I use does the time zone translation for you automatically and shows you time slots your own time zone.
