Happy Weekend, friends! I spend a lot of time on the internet reading things...here are my favorite things that I found on the internet this week. Enjoy!
The Uncomfortable Truth About How Often You Should Wash Your Bedsheets // This article is not for the faint of heart if you are grossed out about the bugs and germs that are a part of your everyday life. If you don't have the stomach to read it...let me summarize. Wash your sheets once a week (every two weeks at the very longest). You've been warned.
5 Body Shaming Thoughts We Need to Stop // Stop with the body shaming. Stop with the comparisons. Love yourself. That is all.
How to Talk to Your Kids About Scary Stuff // While I don't have kids, I feel like this is valuable advice for talking to anyone about anything that's hard or scary to discuss. As a nurse (and now as a nurse practitioner) one of the hardest things is to discuss a topic that a patient finds difficult. It could be anything from weight loss to a terminal diagnosis. This is totally worth a read even if you don't have kids...because really, it's applicable to all of us.
19 Things You Probably Didn't Know // These are pretty random...but #12 and #15 were kind of life changing.
Lice Repelled by Clove Oil // I posted this on Facebook earlier this week. I've heard several people say that their kiddos got sent home with notes about lice going around school. This is a non-toxic way to get rid of the creepy crawlies. Check out this page for more info on essential oils or click the link in the sidebar if you want a free sample!
How to Properly Care for a Blister // As a runner, sadly, I get a fair number of blisters. There's a spot on my foot that I have dubbed my "perma blister" because every time I get a new pair of shoes I end up with blister in the same spot on my foot. When I was in Hawaii for my triathlon, I got a pretty big blister on my foot because I didn't dry my feet off all the way after swimming before putting my running shoes on. Fortunately, it didn't get infected.
Rundies // I cannot express to you how badly I would like to own these. Unfortunately I'm not at a place in my life where I can spend $65 on underwear (or, there are other things that I need/want to spend $65 on right now). Someday, these will be mine.
