vacation approval

One of the negative aspects of my job is the way vacation requests are handled (although one of the positives is that I can often arrange my schedule so I don't have to take any vacation time when going on a short vacation).  You have to submit a request and then it has to be looked at with all the other requests and then you get approved (or denied).  Unfortunately, this often involves buying plane tickets (and travel insurance) before receiving approval.Yesterday I got both of my fall/winter vacation requests approved.  So in October I will be going here

This year will mark a banner year for travel for me.  By the end of the year I will have left Alaska a total of 6 times.  I don't know that I will continue to travel this much, but I might.  This is the first year that I have really been able to travel a lot and I'm really enjoying it.  Previously I had been in school, or working to save up for school, or in my first year internship as an RN and not allowed to take a vacation.  Now that I have the means and the time, I'm making up for all the vacations I've missed in the past!
