Puppies & Jobs (ToL #6)

Here's my weekly installment of random thoughts and ramblings. Only this week I have adorable puppy pictures for you!

In case you haven't figured out from the title of this post, I'm getting a puppy!! Next week to be exact. He (it's a boy!) is coming from a town that's about 2.5 hours away from where I live. Last week I drove down to visit them.

Those are the two boys, so I'll be getting one of them (not sure which one yet). They are super adorable (as most puppies are), and pretty laid back. I'm sure he will do all the ridiculous things that puppies do, but I'm looking forward to a dog that is more mellow than Kiva. I love her to death, but she's crazy.

These guys are English Shepherds, which is the breed that eventually led to the Australian Shepherd (what Kiva is). Aussies were bred partially for looks and partially for working, while English Shepherds continue to be bred mostly for their working (herding/tending) traits, not looks.

Anyway, next week I'll be driving back down to pick up my new friend. I think Kiva knows something is going on...she's just not sure what.

On to jobs...

Now that I'm done with school, I'm tasked with finding a job that makes use of my fancy new degree. Throughout this process I have been learning how different the whole process is when you are a medical provider (doctor, nurse practitioner, PA) and someone who is actually responsible for making the clinic money vs. someone that is an "employee." It's interesting.

I've been to several interviews and a couple of "stop by and hang out with us" type situations (going to another one of those today), which is totally different than anything I've ever experienced in all my job searches throughout my life.

I also still need to take my board exam, but am waiting on authorization to sign up for a test date. This process is long and slow and so frustrating. I'm ready to just take the test and be done with it already, because otherwise I could study forever learning things I don't know and relearning things I forget!

What was your best job interview experience?
