shipping in a click (or two or three)

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I really dislike going to the post office.  I can't remember the last time it took me less than a half an hour (not including the time it takes to drive there and back).  The post office closest to my house is usually pretty busy, and I have never seen more than ONE person working at a time.  The line is usually out the door and the clerk never seems to have any sort of sense of urgency.  The trade off is often whether or not I want to drive halfway across town in order to visit a location that has an automatic postal station (best idea ever...especially for someone like me who really doesn't like talking to people).  I'm not sure why they haven't figured out that these save time and they should put them in at EVERY post office. This week I had an Etsy order to ship and I decided I was going to try printing my postage at home.  I had already picked up a few flat rate envelopes during my last excursion to the dreaded post office.  Let me tell you...Best. Idea. Ever.  It took less than ten minutes to enter the shipping information, print the label, and schedule a pick-up.  I can't believe that I have never done that before! Even if you don't ship things very often, it's definitely worth having a few flat rate boxes or envelopes at home and printing your own labels.  I forgot to mention the best part (yes, better than not going to the post office), it was $0.20 cheaper AND I got free delivery confirmation! I'll never go to the post office again! Well...unless I absolutely have to.
