new digs for kiva & co!

For a couple of years I have been selling my creations on Etsy.  Recently I decided I didn't want to do that anymore.  While they are an excellent place to purchase all things handmade, selling there is kind of frustrating.  First of all, it costs money to list an item and when you make a sale they charge you 3.5% (in addition the fee PayPal charges on each transaction).  It's also frustrating to be one tiny shop amongst thousands, all fighting to gain exposure.  It's like having a tiny kiosk in a corner of the Mall of America.

It works for some people.  It wasn't working for me.  So, since I already pay for my domain name (something like $5 a year), I decided to move my shop on over here!

Introducing the new Kiva & Co

The one downside to this plan is that I am now 100% responsible for drumming up my own traffic. That being said, if you like what you see...please share!

I'm pretty proud of it because I coded it myself and I am a computer programming dummy (seriously, I almost failed Intro to Programming in college).  Thankfully TypePad makes some of it pretty simple, but other parts I had to figure out how to do all on my own!

I'm still playing around with the layout a bit, so I'm sure things will change, but overall I'm really happy with the way it turned out!

Please let me know if anything does not appear to be working properly or you have suggestions to make it more user friendly.
