While I was on my cruise, I decided to experiment with HDR photos. I've always loved the way that they looked, but I figured I could never create my own. Wrong! In a nutshell, an HDR photo combines three photos taken at different exposures giving it more depth. The human eye sees so many more colors and more contrast than a camera does. An HDR photo is a way to better capture what your eyes see (or be creative and make it better than what your eyes saw). They are a little time intensive, so it's taken me awhile to find the photos I want to use and then create them. Some have not turned out they way I wanted, so I'm not sharing most of them at the moment. This shot is from college fjord and is my current favorite.
