After reading this post, I started thinking about how clean eating (or mostly clean eating) is only a small part of keeping yourself healthy. What's the point of keeping bad stuff out of my food if it's just going seep into my body via my skin? I looked at the ingredients on all of my skincare products and was appalled to find a large portion of toxins in all of them. I decided that when I ran out of each of them, I would replace them with something cleaner.I'm not willing to invest the time, money, and effort to find something that is 100% toxin free. Perhaps that's the wrong attitude, but it works for me. A couple of days ago I went to Target and found a few things to replace the items I am almost out of. I used the list that Elise posted as well as The Good Guide iPhone app (free) to determine what would be the best for me. I ended up with Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap in the Lavender scent (it also comes in Peppermint, but that seemed a little intense for me), Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes, and Burt's Bees Soap Bar & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream. So far I love all of them. We will see if they can keep my skin happy as the moisture sucking winter weather continues (my lips are currently peeling off in chunks, gross I know...but it's seriously dry around here)!
