Hooray for the last week before tapering! I'm kind of over running at the moment. This week it felt like a chore rather than something I enjoy doing. I'm hoping that changes soon. It also appears that I ran a whole lot of miles this week because last weeks long run fell on Sunday and this week it happened on Saturday.
12 mi @ 10:59-11:29 - 12 mi @ 11:41
Long, rainy, hilly run. The first 3 miles and the last 5 miles were the hardest. I was tired. It wouldn't stop raining...and I was tired.
All I remember about this run is that I kept waiting for it to be over. It wasn't raining, but it ended up being kind of hot and humid (it had just quit raining)...and I was still tired from my long run the day before.
5 mi @ 10:59-11:28
This is where things start to go wrong. I was dreading running so much that I put it off all day and then never went. I kept saying "I should really go running." But I just never made it happen.
Rest/Work - 4 mi @ 9:55
I decided on Wednesday that I would take the 8 miles that I had left to run before my long run (5 miles from Tuesday, 3 miles on Friday) and divide them up into two 4 mile runs. I headed out after work on Thursday and just sort of ran...apparently I ran kind of fast. I was looking forward to dinner and bed, so that might have had something to do with it.
3 mi @ 10:59-11:28
Yeah, failed plan. Based on how tired I was, I figured it would be better to rest and focus my energy on my long run on Saturday. Who knows if that is actually true or not, but I'll try and remember this decision if I run my half marathon and say I sure wish I had run those last four easy miles before my last long run...
14 mi @ 10:59-11:28, last 5 miles @ 10:20-10:30 - 14 mi @ 11:06 (last 5 mi - 10:08, 10:08, 10:01, 10:11, 9:55)
This was hard. There was a lot of stopping and a lot of hating. I hated every single minute of this run.
